UAEV has declared the implementation of new electric vehicle tariffs, which will take effect in January 2025

UAEV, the pioneering government-owned electric vehicle (EV) charging network in the UAE, is set to implement the newly established EV tariffs announced by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, coming into effect in January 2025.

These tariffs symbolize a crucial development in advancing both the sustainability and growth of the network. It is noteworthy that EV charging services have remained complimentary since the initial announcement of tariffs last May. This milestone underlines UAEV’s dedication to maintaining high-quality service, ensuring equitable access, and aligning with the UAE’s vision of a sustainable future.

Beginning January 2025, EV users will benefit from clear and uniform charging fees. The tariff will be 1.2 DHS/kWh plus VAT for DC chargers and 0.70 DHS/kWh plus VAT for AC chargers, promoting fair and consistent pricing and supporting the excellence of network operations.

In efforts to enhance the EV driving experience, UAEV is rolling out a user-friendly mobile application. This app offers features like easily locating the nearest charging station, receiving live status updates, and simplified payment options, providing EV users with essential resources to navigate the charging network effectively.

Alongside the app, UAEV is introducing a 24/7 call center aimed at delivering immediate support and assistance, thus ensuring a seamless user experience at all times.

“This represents a pivotal step in the UAE’s progress toward sustainable transportation,” stated Sharif al Olama, Chairman of UAEV. “The establishment of standardized charging tariffs and the introduction of innovative solutions like the UAEV app and nonstop support underscore our continuous commitment to improving the EV driver experience. By broadening our network and aligning with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy, we are crafting a cleaner, greener future for all.”

By 2030, UAEV’s network will encompass 1,000 chargers strategically positioned across urban centers, highways, and transit points within the UAE. Key locations will cover all emirates, guaranteeing accessibility for both inter-city and intra-city EV users.

In alignment with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy, UAEV is dedicated to promoting sustainable transport and reducing carbon emissions. By providing high-speed charging solutions, real-time network monitoring, and strategically placed charging stations, UAEV empowers EV drivers and fosters green mobility throughout the nation.

UAEV offers an integrated charging solution ecosystem tailored to diverse user requirements. Focusing on reliability, accessibility, and innovation, UAEV continues to be a pivotal force in facilitating the UAE’s transition to a greener future.
